About

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Cal Poly, Humboldt. My work as a Clinical Social Worker is influenced by a variety of theories and practices; however, I draw my primary theoretical model from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also have advanced EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training and have found the EMDR model to be extremely beneficial for my clients. Through a blend of evidence-based techniques, warmth and humor, I strive to create a space where clients can feel comfortable. My areas of expertise include but are not limited to: working with individuals with complex trauma, major depression, anxiety disorders, chronic pain and personality disorders. I also help individuals navigate life changes and challenges and provide education around nutrition and diet. I also work with individuals who have been affected by long haul Covid, or those who are experiencing vaccine injury. I work with adults, teenagers and children who are ten and older. I also provide couples therapy. Have questions? Please feel free to send me an email or give me a call! Evidence-based techniques I primarily use in my practice: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT is a type of psychotherapy that helps people develop psychological flexibility to adapt to challenges in life. ACT helps people learn to accept their thoughts and feelings, and to adjust their behaviors to better match their values. Think of this technique as practicing non-avoidance. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR): EMDR is a treatment modality that helps individuals to process and heal distressing memories using guided bilateral stimulation. The aim is to reduce emotional charge, improve how you feel about past and current experiences and find adaptive ways to approach similar scenarios in the future.
